San Francisco is setting the precedent and not before time. Junk food companies must be held to account, none more so than the junk pet food companies, principally Mars (Royal Canin, Pedigree), Nestlé (Purina) and Colgate-Palmolive (Hill’s)—together with their co-conspirators in the vet profession and fake animal welfare organisations.
Prosecuting the conspirators for knowingly selling ultraprocessed junk “dangerous for pet consumption” using “deceitful tactics” should be a straightforward matter. Let’s get started.
